Wed., Feb.7- BRPAS meets...Be there or be Square!
|
Time is flying by and it's time for BRPAS folks to get together again for our monthly meeting. Same deal as usual- Time: 6:30 Social time (bring snacks and goodies to share!) Where: The Academy of Fine Arts on Main St. in Lynchuburg Time: 7:00 Meeting Starts
This month Andrew Wilds, long time BRPAS member who has recently rejoined our flock since moving back to town, will give a presentation on esteemed Hollywood photographer, George Hurrell.
Hurrell is primarily remembered for his work while he was a portrait photographer for Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer Studios in the early 1930s. Hurrell is credited with developing the glamor idiom in photography and setting the standard for the idealized Hollywood glamour portrait.
This will be an exciting presentation and should only be missed if you have a note from your Dr. that excuses your attendance.
MONTHLY PHOTO THEME: LINES BRPAS members are encouraged to bring up to two, unmatted photographs (no larger than 8.5x11) that depict this month's theme. EVERYONE at the meeting will vote which is their favorite. The top three vote getters will accrue points for the year end award and this month's winner will receive a HUGE round of applause and a fabulous (but small!) prize for their photographic efforts and will have their winning entry displayed at Lynchburg Camera Shop.
